Running windows on Apple silicon Macs, Virtualbox vs. Parallels desktop

Spread the love

I have an M2 mac, and I need to run some windows software. Unfortunately, the Apple silicon macs no longer support bootcamp, so I have been looking into alternatives, and I have come across virtualbox, which I am already quite familiar with, and Parallels desktop. In my experience virtualbox can run windows pretty slowly on macs, but it is free. My question would be, is Parallels desktop significantly quicker than virtualbox, and worth the price? As it isn’t too cheap. Also, feel free to suggest any other alternatives.

Thanks!
