February 7 is Safer Internet Day, and parents can take part by signing up for Apple’s “Your Kids and Their Devices” class. it shows parents how to maintain the online privacy of children who use iPhone or iPad.

The class is free and available online or in person around the world.

Protect you and your kids online with free Apple tools

Apple devices offer numerous tools for protecting user privacy. Many of these are focused on children. That includes a Communication Safety feature for the Messages app that warns kids if they receive or attempt to send photos containing nudity. It’s not available in all countries yet, but Apple promised Tuesday that it’s working to expand access.

Parents can also set Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time, and restrict App Store downloads to age-appropriate apps.

Parents can head to iPhone school

Settings for these are scattered around iOS, iPadOS and macOS. One way to learn how to find them and set up these privacy protections is with a free class from Apple.

“Your Kids and Their Devices” teaches parents how to how to manage content and maintain privacy with new features for iPhone and iPad. That includes Screen Time, Family Sharing, App Limits and more.

The class is available online and in over 500 Apple retail stores globally.
